Overview
You might want to have all downloaded files, including image, video, and other file formats, to have all the metadata the asset was tagged within TeleScope.
Solution
Pre-requisites
Diagnosis
You can check the XMP metadata fields of a downloaded file with Exiftool: exiftool
-xmp:all <file path>
. The file might not have all the metadata as was assigned to the asset in TeleScope.
Steps To Fix
Apply the conversion rule(in TSAdmin > Rules) to the group of the user who will be downloading the asset.
There was an issue in TeleScope versions prior to 2020.5 where video files wouldn't retain all the metadata fields like Copyright even if the conversion rule was turned on. This was fixed in TeleScope Standard 2020.5. It is recommended to upgrade to this or a later version if you still see metadata fields being missed. If your TeleScope installation has customizations or you're an OnDemand customer, please contact your Account Manager or support for help with this.
Testing
Check the XMP metadata fields of a downloaded file with Exiftool: exiftool
-xmp:all <file path>
.
The downloaded assets should have all the metadata as applied to them on TeleScope.
