Unable to Download Telescope Uploader From TSWeb

Overview

Due to improper IIS configuration, Telescope users might not be able to download TSUploader and see an error page with the following message as shown below: 404 - File or directory not found.

The following message might also be logged in error log files:

HTTP Error 404.2 - Not Found
The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the ISAPI and CGI
Restriction list setting on the Web server

Solution

1. Open the IIS Manager and navigate to the server level.

2. In the Features view, double-click on the Handler Mappings icon.

   

3. Right-click on CGI-exe and select Edit Feature Permissions.

   

4. Uncheck the Execute option and click on the OK button to save the change.

   

5. Perform the above steps for ISAPI-dll too.

6. The previous actions change the state to Disabled for the CGI-exe and the ISAPI-dll in Handler Mappings.

   

Testing

Users will again be able to download Telescope Uploader installer from TSWeb.
